Waipa Networks Business Awards partnership continues
On the heels of this year’s successful new-look Waipa Networks Business Awards, the Cambridge Business Chamber and Waipa Networks are delighted to announce their continued Business Awards partnership.
Waipa Networks Interim Chief Executive Marcel Manders said, “Waipa Networks is proud to be continuing our longstanding history as the Platinum Sponsor of the Awards. This is the flagship event for the Waipa business community, and we look forward to being part of its successful and sustainable future.”
Chief Executive of the Cambridge Business Chamber Kelly Bouzaid is excited that Waipa Network’s naming rights association with the awards is set to continue. “The ongoing support of Waipa Networks is great news for the Waipa district. Their backing has been and continues to be crucial to having a successful event of this magnitude for our district.”
The Waipa Networks Business Awards made a comeback in April this year, after a Covid hiatus in 2020. Bouzaid said, “This year’s awards were very successful. It was a big year because it was the first time the Cambridge Business Chamber has organised the awards, as the sole organiser. We made changes to reflect the current business environment, and these were well received by entrants and judges, especially the revised awards categories, the simpler entry process and the change in timing.
Something we also found was an unexpected positive effect from the two year gap between awards. Although the gap was forced on us by Covid, and could have been a real negative, it showed us there were benefits in being biennial. The 24-month window gave businesses time to demonstrate how their businesses apply strategy and provide evidence to show how their businesses stand out. We feel a biennial programme is positive for the awards and we have decided to carry it through, with our next Waipa Networks Business Awards celebration planned for 2023.”
